‘Lady Jackpot Chaser’ Wins $1 million Mega Millions Prize
For years a woman from Maryland in the USA has been trying to win a big lottery prize. Her patience finally paid off with a $1 million Mega Millions win in the draw held on April 18.
The lucky winner has asked to be known as ‘Lady Jackpot Chaser’ and as you’ll read, that’s a good description. It’s a big change of luck for the Silver Springs resident after years of not winning.
For years, the Mega Millions player has been using birthday numbers hoping for a big win. When she did finally win $1 million, her selection consisted of a friend’s birthday and some random numbers.
“I didn’t believe it!”
The 61-year-old who works as a saleswoman always believed one day she’d win a big lottery prize. Finally that dream has come true for her with this $1 million Mega Millions success. Recalling the moment when she realised a $1 million had been won, the lucky player said: “I didn’t believe it. I didn’t know how to react.”
Still chasing a jackpot
However, it’s not the end of her days playing lotteries. As her nickname suggests, the desire to win a big jackpot is still there. “Oh yes, I will keep playing.” said the Mega Millions winner. Tickets will continue to be bought in the hope an even larger win will come along.
Perhaps that might happen in the next Mega Millions draw due to be held this evening. The jackpot up for grabs tonight is $400 million with a cash value of $206.7 million.
For now the Maryland resident has her $1 million prize to spend. Plans for her Mega Millions windfall include paying off her mortgage.
Her winning ticket was purchased from the 7-Eleven in Silver Spring. The Montgomery County retailer will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the million dollar winning ticket.
Maryland is proving to be a lucky state in which to buy Mega Millions tickets. This latest win is the third time in 2023 that a player from Maryland has won a $1 million prize.
