KANSAS LOTTERY WINNING COUPLE TO CELEBRATE 43RD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY IN STYLE
A couple from Kansas who won big on the Kansas Lottery are planning a big celebration next month as it will also be their 43
rd wedding anniversary.Michael and Virginia Owens, from Tonganoxie, Kansas, in the USA, won $22,000 on the 2by2 lotto from the Kansas Lottery. The couple were required to match the numbers on both red balls and both white balls, and they did just that late last month when they matched red numbers 11 and 18 and white numbers 7 and 23. Recently another Kansas Lottery player won $25,000 when he bought a ticket following the birth of his daughter.“We play 2by2 almost every day,” said Mrs Owens, adding that they both really enjoy the Lotto process. “We had a free ticket winner, so we went to the store to get a new ticket, and when they went to print the new one, the machine jammed up and crinkled the ticket up.”It was that jammed ticket that won the couple their $22,000 Kansas Lottery prize, and Mr Owens recalled that the store clerk predicted their good luck. “The clerk made a comment that tickets that don’t print right are lucky,” he said. “Turns out they knew what they were talking about.” A couple from Ontario in Canada were able to take a very special trip for their 3
rd wedding anniversary after winning $100,000 on the Lotto 649.The couple didn’t check their Kansas Lottery ticket until the next day, when Mrs Owens was out grocery shopping. “I went to the store, and before I started shopping I thought I would check my tickets,” the lucky 2by2 Lotto winner explained. “When I checked my ticket, the machine said to take it to the clerk. I just assumed because it was wrinkled up, that it wasn’t scanning right.”In actual fact, the machine had told the lottery winner to see the store clerk because it was a big winner, and when the store clerk produced a claim form, she knew they had a big Kansas Lottery win. “I was so excited, I went straight home and forgot to get the groceries.” A woman from Dublin who won €500,000 on the EuroMillions said that she forgot all about her pile of ironing when she found out she’d won.The couple plan to spend some of their winnings on their two children and five grandchildren, but they will also treat themselves to a trip away. A couple from England who won £6.6 million on the uK Lotto in 2013 said that they enjoy spending their winnings on their large family, while a pair of grandparents from Ireland decided to give away their entire €200,000 Irish Lotto winnings to their grandchildren. You have got to be in it to win it... validate your tickets online at Lottery24.com.
