Joke Turns into Reality for $1.2 million Saturday Lotto Winner
A mother was rather dismissive when her daughter joked she’d win a big lottery prize one day. A few days later, it was no joke when the Australian from Central Coast won a $1.2 million Saturday Lotto prize.
The lucky player won a total of $1,290,825.58 and was one of four division one winners in the Saturday Lotto draw held on October 12.
Oh my god!
It was on the evening of the draw that the Summerland Point resident discovered her fantastic win. “I couldn’t stop saying: ‘oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!” When showing her partner the winning ticket he couldn’t stop laughing.
When the lottery company called her the following day to confirm her success, the winner admitted relaxing had been difficult since her amazing discovery. It had been a sleepless night as she kept looking at the phone and “watching the confetti” that confirmed a big win.
“I’m so glad it’s real,” said the Saturday Lotto winner. “I know I could see it on my app, but I’ve been stressing that it was some sort of trick.”
Laugh or cry?
Speaking about her big win, the delighted woman said: “Oh my god. You’ve made my whole life. My eyes are watering. I can’t even read my ticket. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry!”
Then she recalled the conversation she’d had with her daughter just days before. She’d told her mother how lucky she was and one day she’d win the lottery. Her mother replied that there was more chance of being hit by a bus. Well, there’s been no road accident but the mother really is very lucky.
A woman from Perth was on holiday when finding out she’d won a $5.1 million Saturday Lotto prize.
The Saturday Lotto winner admitted that she’d been talking about how to spend a big lottery win for many years. Now it’s finally happened, the lucky player wants to pay off her mortgage which will be “a real help” for her.
