I’VE WON THE LOTTERY DAD; CAN YOU LEND ME THE MONEY TO GO TO BALI?
Winning the lottery really can change your life. That’s definitely been the case for Matt Myles, 27, even if within days of winning £1m on EuroMillions in April he was borrowing money from his father.Back in April Matt only had £135 to last him three weeks, but while waiting for a friend he suddenly decided to buy a EuroMillions ticket. He couldn’t believe his luck when discovering he’d won £1m. Not that his father believed him at first, swearing at him and putting the phone down on him.The lucky winner couldn’t wait to start celebrating, even if that meant borrowing more money from his father, because his winning cheque hadn’t cleared. His win was validated by Camelot on Thursday and thanks to his dad he was on a plane to Bali the next morning. The last ten weeks have seen Matt travelling around the world with his brother Pete and best friend Joe Wills and chronicling his adventures on social media. It’s all very different from his days of working 12-hour factory shifts, and he’s loving every minute of it: “They say money can’t buy happiness, but I have never been happier. I’m so grateful for my good fortune.”In one night at the Potato Head Beach Club in Bali he spent £3,500 on food and drink. At the moment he’s in Brazil watching England play in the World Cup, but happier times lie ahead with trips to Ibiza, Peru, Australia, America, China and Egypt on the horizon.Despite all the travelling, he’s determined to keep hold of his money. He’s already invested half of his winnings and launched a property developing company with his brother and a friend. He also plans on getting a pilot’s licence next year and spend three months volunteering for UNICEF in Africa. He also wants to use his winnings to help his parents: “They’ve worked hard all their lives and it’s nice to be able to treat them. I’ve got them a camper van each to go on holiday whenever they want.”To give yourself a chance of also becoming a winner, play now at Lottery24.com.
