Irish Ticket Wins €30.9million EuroMillions Jackpot
For the first time since 2020, a ticket sold in Ireland has won the EuroMillions jackpot. The lucky player(s) won the €30.9 milliontop prize in the draw held on Friday February 11.
Their winning ticket managed to match: 13-18-38-42-45 and the two Lucky Stars 07 and 11.No one has yet come forward to claim their EuroMillions jackpot winnings. A National Lottery spokesperson said: “This is amazing news for one of our players in Ireland. €30.9 million is truly a life-changing prize.”
First win in two years
The last EuroMillions jackpot win for Ireland was in July 2020. A ticket won €49.56 million. It’s a long way behind the best ever Irish win. That was three years ago when a family syndicate from Naul, Co Dublin won a €175.43 million top prize.
Whoever has won the EuroMillions jackpot has been advised to sign the back of their ticket and then keep it in a safe place. The last thing anyone would want to do is lose a ticket worth over €30 million.
Which county won?
We do know where it was sold. The winning ticket was purchased at a service station in Garryurtneal, Ballina, Killaloe. That borders Co Clare, Co Tipperary, and Co Limerick, so the winner(s) could come from any of those counties.
The service station is owned by Siobhan Larkin, and she hopes there’s a local winner. She believes the win is going to be “absolutely huge for the community.” Wondering who might have purchased the winning ticket, she said:
“It’s become a bit of a running joke now as to where the winning ticket was actually sold because of our unique border location – was it Clare, Limerick or Tipperary? As proud Tipperary people, we’ll be claiming the win for Tipp,” she added.
This is the second time in three draws that the EuroMillions jackpot has been won. February 4 saw a UK ticket win the Super Draw and a £109.9 million top prize. That win has been claimed but there’s been no news of who won. Tonight’s draw has a £14 million jackpot.
