Hug and Happy Tears For $20 million Lotto Max Winner

Anna Pelka from Ontario in Canada was looking forward to Christmas and then on December 20 she won a $20 million Lotto Max jackpot.

The lucky winner has now claimed her prize and been speaking about how it will change her life.

A dream

Over the last seven years, the health-care worker has been trying to get a big win on a number of lottery games. It’s always been a dream of hers to win a big prize and she’d often dream about what she’d do if winning a jackpot..

After buying some holiday-themed scratchcards, Anna also purchased a Lotto Max Quick Pick ticket for the December 20 draw.

Having not seen the Lotto Max draw, she had no idea how much her ticket had won. On her way home from work she stopped to get some gas. It was then she decided to check her ticket and the scanner advised her to speak to the station staff.

Shaking like a leaf

It was all a bit of a shock as the lucky winner recalls:  “Shaking like a leaf, feeling hot and suddenly thirsty” she showed her ticket to the store clerk. That reaction is just like the one  a recent $1 million Lotto Max winner  experienced.

It’s all a bit of a blur after that after she was told of her $20 million Lotto Max win. The kind member of staff gave her a bottle of water and then she returned home.

Not long after that her husband arrived home and she asked him to double-check her Lotto Max ticket.  It really had won the $20 million jackpot and the delighted couple then shared a hug “and cried happy tears.” It’s  the latest Lotto Max win in Ontario after a series of jackpot wins last year.

Talking about her jackpot win, Anna said:  “As a parent, it brings me peace of mind. It feels good to know that my children will be taken care of and can pursue the education of their dreams. It’s amazing to be able to provide this for them.”
