Holidaying Australian Woman Wins $5.1m Saturday Lotto Jackpot
Holidays are often full of pleasant memories. A woman from Perth in Western Australia, has certainly just had one she’ll never forget. While on holiday, she was told a $5.1 million Saturday Lotto jackpot had been won.
The jackpot winner has asked that her identity not be revealed. However, we do know that she is a middle-aged woman.
While on holiday, it was time to do some grocery shopping. While doing that at the Boulevard News store in Esperance, she also decided to buy a Saturday Lotto ticket.
It’s a lottery that the winner loves playing. Wherever she is, a Saturday Lotto ticket is purchased, hoping it might win her a big prize.
Her travels continued and while in another town, heard a news story that intrigued her. It said that the $5.1 million Saturday Lotto jackpot had been won by a ticket sold in Esperance. Could her ticket be the winner of the top prize? Sometimes we should follow our lucky feelings!
Indeed it was and the ticket purchased during her holiday was the jackpot winner. Not surprisingly, the lucky player was greatly shocked and a bit uncertain when finding out she had become a millionaire.
A bit of a cry
“I couldn’t believe that I’d won, I checked the ticket again and again,” she said. When realising that she really had won a Saturday Lotto jackpot, the emotional winner admits that next she “had a bit of a cry.”
When returning home from her holiday, you usually first unpack your car and then return to your normal life. Not for the newest millionaire in Perth who went to Lotterywest HQ before doing that.
Mortgage to be paid
Plans for her Saturday Lotto win include paying off her mortgage. Also planned is to help her family and friends.
The store that sold the winning ticket is also celebrating. Rochelle Rantanen said that stores across the state of Western Australia had been contacting them. It’s the latest big winning ticket the store has sold after nine Division Two Set for Life tickets each won $5000 a month for the next year.
