Golf Postponed for $1 million Weekday Windfall Winner

A man from Kilmore in Victoria, Australia was getting himself ready for a round of golf. Then he received a phone call informing him he’d won a $1 million Weekday Windfall prize.

His was the only ticket that matched all the numbers in the March 26 draw. He has asked to remain anonymous but we do know that the Weekday Windfall winner has recently retired.

Having not seen the draw the previous night, he had no idea of his success. His ticket had been registered so that meant the lottery company knew he’d won before he did.

He confessed to having trouble talking after hearing news of his $1 million win. “I can’t stop shaking,” the Weekday Windfall winner added. All a bit worrying for him with a round of golf due to be played.

The lucky player said that his win “will make retirement so much easier.” His win came after playing lotteries for over five decades.  A Queensland player won a $15 million Oz Lotto prize  with his first ever ticket.

As for that round of golf, he said: “I might just have to sit here for a few days and recover.”

His win came just two days after a 19-year-old man from Hawthorn in Melbourne also won a $1 million Weekday Windfall prize.

It was around 9pm on the evening of the Weekday Windfall draw that he made his life-changing discovery.  A Melbourne winner of a $20 million Oz Lotto prize  discovered his win at 3am.

Have I won or not?

His father was asleep but not for long. Not entirely sure of his win, he woke him up to check the $1 million winning ticket. His mother thought he hadn’t matched enough numbers to win a division one prize but her husband confirmed that his son had indeed won $1 million.

Now he plans on having a celebration with his friends and “maybe have some celebratory whiskey.”

Initial plans for his winnings include making all the payments for his car and university tuition fees.
