Golf Mad £1.02m Postcode Lottery Winner Off to Augusta
A golf trip with his friends is being planned by David from Earn in Perthshire, Scotland after winning a £1.02 million Postcode Lottery prize.
Off to Augusta
The former policeman and army veteran said that his win was “beyond his wildest dreams.” He’s a four-handicap golfer and also works as a seasonal driver for an executive golf travel firm.
Scotland is full of great courses. However, his dream is to take three friends to Augusta in the US where the Masters tournament takes place.
His win is only the third time a Postcode Lottery winner has won over £1 million. The largest Postcode lottery win was the £1.21 million won by Kevin from Wales.
This lucky winner said he’d have been happy if only winning £5,000. He said that his legs felt like jelly and it’s going to “take a bit of time” to get over the shock of becoming a millionaire. He won so much because the lucky winner had three tickets, each winning £340,000.
He wants to use some of his winnings to help his two sisters, son, daughter and two grandchildren. A trip to Australia to see long-lost relatives is also planned and he’ll be sitting in the executive seats. Buying a new top-of-the-range car (possibly a Mercedes) is also on his spending list.
No foreign holidays for Stewart
Winning a £680,000 Postcode Lottery prize with two tickets is Stewart. He’s also looking for a new car with a Nissan Juke most likely to be purchased. Home renovations are also planned but no holidays overseas. Instead he’ll stay in Scotland for a caravan holiday. He joked that receiving two winning cheques almost put him in Perth Royal Infirmary.
Back to Perth
The other £680,000 winners were Aveline (better known as Joyce) and her husband Jim. They now plan to move back to Perth in Scotland which is where they were both born.
Buying a Volvo is also on its way. Joyce says their win will give them “the chance now to really enjoy life.”
