The numbers drawn were 7, 38, 46, 49 and 56, plus the Mega Ball of 1. The winner can either accept the $66 million as an annuity over a period of 30 years or take a one-off payment of $37.9 million. No one has come forward yet to claim the prize but it has been confirmed that the winning ticket was sold at a gas station at the corner of Market Street and Gratiot Avenue in Mount Clemens, Detroit.This is the third jackpot winning ticket sold in Michigan on a Friday 13th following earlier wins on June 13th, 2008, and May 13th, 2011. The only other Mega Millions jackpot winners sold on Friday the 13th was in New York, on March 13th, 2009.Friday’s Mega Millions draw also produced a $1 million winner after a ticket purchased in Virginia managed to match the first five numbers drawn.The $66 million top prize is the sixth Mega Millions jackpot won this year. The first big win of the year saw $61 million won in the January 3rd draw by Bettina and Jonathan Till from Bellevue in Nashville Tennessee. We had to wait until March for what has turned out to be the biggest win of the year so far. The jackpot had grown to $414 million and was shared on March 7th by members of the Cobie and Seamus Trust and a ticket holder in Maryland, both winning $207 million. Cameron Finney, 48, an orderly at South Hampton Hospital, won $20 million in the draw held on March 25th. The most recent Mega Millions win was on May 20th when a ticket sold in Pennsylvania won $149 million, which win still hasn’t been claimed.The next Mega Millions draw takes place on Tuesday June 17th with a $15 million jackpot up for grabs.
