Former Dancer Celebrates £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery Win
Six neighbours from Buckwell in Somerset, England, have each won a £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery prize.
One of the winners is former professional dancer Lorna. When hearing that her post code TA21 8TE had won a Street Prize, she wasn’t sure how much had been won. “I thought even if it was £50 it would be fun.” Then she received the news that her People’s Postcode Lottery win was in fact £30,000.
Lorna has described her win as “life-changing” and will use some of her winnings to help her daughter and two grandchildren. Plans include helping one of her grandchildren with their university expenses.
A treat for herself
The other loves horse riding so will be having lessons paid for and uniforms bought. Lorna will ensure that some of her People’s Postcode Lottery winnings are spent on herself. “All my life I've spent helping the children and I've never done anything for myself, so this will be fabulous just to treat myself,” said the delighted winner.
A cruise to somewhere like the Caribbean is on her spending list, or perhaps visiting the fjords or the Greek Isles. The latter could be another treat for her granddaughter who loves archaeology.
Also winning a £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery prize were Leslie and Linda. Leslie plans to put their winnings in the bank for the moment. A holiday is planned though, and his wife is keen on “an adventure.” That may be a long-desired trip to Mauritius.
Handing out the golden envelopes, Matt Johnson said: "What an absolute pleasure it was to meet Lorna, Leslie and Linda and present them with this fantastic surprise. It sounds like they've got some lovely plans for their winnings, and I hope they have an amazing time spending the cash."
Big News in Scotland
An even larger win has been announced for players in Wilshaw in Glasgow, Scotland. The February 26 draw saw a £7.9 People’s Postcode Lottery prize won. How much each player has won won’t be revealed until February 26. It’s believed some ticket holders will win a six-figure amount.
