Former Address Wins Ian £111,111 Postcode Lottery Prize

Ian Calver from Chelmsford in Essex, England has won a £111,111 Postcode Lottery prize. That’s despite the fact he uses his grandmother’s address and hasn’t lived there for three years.

He started playing the Postcode Lottery when living with his grandmother in Chipping Ongar. At that time he and his future husband were saving up to buy a new home.

Then he got married to Ollie Chivers and moved to Chelmsford and intended to use his new postcode but then decided not to as his nan’s house means so much to him.  A £166,666 Postcode Lottery winner also won while using an old address.

What a decision that’s proved to be, though his parents and husband had no idea he’d done that.

Speechless

Speaking about his win, the Postcode Lottery winner said: “My nan will be speechless. She'll be made up and will probably cry."

He added: it had been “nerve-wracking” waiting to find out how much had been won. Now he has the cheque, Ian said that he “can’t stop looking at it.”

The couple already have a holiday in Canada booked. That will be upgraded now thanks to this Postcode Lottery win.

There will also be some home improvements made including a loft conversion and another bathroom.  It’s the latest Postcode Lottery win in Essex after a woman won a £411,238 prize  last year.

Welcome win

Steven Smith  who still lives in Chipping Ongar- has also won a £111,111 Postcode Lottery prize.It’s a welcome win for Steven who has to use a wheelchair after cancer left him paralysed from the waist down.

Some of his winnings will be used to make more adaptations to the home he lives in with his wife Lynn.

There has already been some work carried out but it’s a costly business. Those changes can now be made and Steven says they will “improve my quality of life.”

Spending some money on the caravan they have in Felixstowe is also on their spending list, as well as “some nice meals out.”
