First Time Lucky for £111,111 Postcode Lottery Winner

Geoffrey from Bottesford in Nottinghamshire, England, has plenty of reasons to thank his granddaughter. Holly told him it’d be a great idea to play the Postcode Lottery and in his very first draw he won £111,111.

The delighted pensioner nearly didn’t get his big win though. He kept on forgetting to register but his granddaughter reminded him and the rest is history.

I can’t believe it!

Talking about his Postcode Lottery win, he said: Oh my God! I can't believe it - £12 in exchange for today's prize is just unbelievable."

His last win was a 12-inch black and white portable television and that was half a century ago. Plans for his Postcode Lottery windfall include some house renovations including repairing his garage roof. He then might buy a new car to put it in. A holiday in Cornwall is also being planned but above all he wants to help his family.

Also both winning £111,111 were neighbours Olga and her best friendLinda. Olga used to play the Postcode Lottery but cancelled her ticket last year. Linda persuaded her to start playing again and that was a great move to make.

The grandmother said she’ll enjoy spending her winnings. Olga and her husband Frank want to complete the newly-built extension on their home. Then a holiday  with her granddaughter in Benidorm is planned.

If only

Linda thought she might be dreaming but that wasn’t so. The Postcode Lottery winner said that she and her husband Bill often watch the television adverts and think ‘if only.’

A trip to Miami, Florida to see her two sons and grandchildren is also on her spending list. David from Scotland is  heading to Augusta, Georgia after his £1.02 million Postcode Lottery win.

First though, they’ll put their winnings in the bank until the couple “calm down.” At first she thought  it might all be a dream but that wasn’t so. The Postcode Lottery winner said that she and her husband Bill often watch the television adverts and think ‘if only.’
