The 58-year-old former lollipop lady has had a tough time in the past year or so. Her husband sadly died of cancer and Caroline herself spent six weeks in hospital. While she was there, her bungalow was flooded. This Super 7’s scratchcard win has put a smile back on her face.

Neither of her sons initially believed the amazing news. 40-year-old Chris, who works as a ward manager at a hospital said: “I couldn’t believe it when my mum called. I was absolutely ecstatic.”

He plans to use part of his share of the scratchcard winnings to go on a holiday with his partner and their two children.

Caroline has already started buying treats for her grandchildren. Looking to the future, she’s putting money aside for them. They were always keen lottery players and chatted about how a big win would be spent. Speaking about the win, she said: “I think he’ll be happy knowing that I am going to be taken care of.”

Off to Somerset

One dream was to move to Spain but Caroline is heading to her caravan in Brean Sands in the English county of Somerset where she regularly went with her husband. Other plans for her win include transforming her garden so she can enjoy it when the sun shines.
