It sometimes pays to spend a bit of time looking at Facebook. A woman from Bargo in New South Wales, Australia, found some important information there. It led to her claiming her $20,000 a month for 20 years Set for Life prize.

The woman had no idea that she had won the Set for Life prize in the draw held on Sunday 29 August. She has asked to remain anonymous but did have a chat with lottery officials giving details of her great win.

Massive Shock

“I have to sit down; I am going to collapse! Oh my god!” was her reaction to the Set for Life win. She explained how it was the Bargo Community Facebook Page that changed her life. It gave details of a division one Set for Life win in the area, but no one knew who the winner was.

It was time to get her ticket checked, though she never imagined that it was the winner. “I scanned my ticket and next thing I know they’re telling me I scored division one in Set for Life. I don’t really remember what happened next. My mind went blank from the shock. My legs went all jiggly; I had to hold myself up. I could cry then, and I could still cry right now.”

No more work

The Set for Life winner says that the prize is life-changing for her and she’s still “absolutely stunned.” She knew exactly what is planned after ending her chat with lottery officials.  “Tonight, we will pop a bottle of champagne, sit in the backyard and start brainstorming all of the things we can do with this prize.”

Retiring from work is definitely something she wants to do.For decades she has worked in a “really stressful job” so giving it up isn’t gong to upset her all.

Also planned is making some donations to charities “that really mean something to me.” Then, when it is possible to go overseas again, the Set for Life winner wants to “book a first-class flight for a first-class holiday!
