The judge declared that the courts in England had no jurisdiction to decide the claim, and that the English based Conservatory Company would instead need to pursue their case against the winners of a record lottery jackpot through Scottish courts.The Weirs chose to cancel the contracts and suspend all work on the lottery winning mansion after reportedly losing confidence in the builders, and insist that they can only be sued for damaged in Scotland, as that is the country in which they reside, and have done for years before they won the EuroMillions jackpot.Oak Leaf Conservatories argued in court that they did not specifically advertise north of the English/Scottish border and had been approached directly by the lottery winners.
