EuroMillions Winners Busy Making Planter Boxes for local schools
You might think that after a big lottery win, it’s time to relax and just enjoy your winnings. That’s not the case for a £1m winning EuroMillions syndicate from West Suffolk in England. They have been busy making planter boxes and donating them to key workers and children in the local area. Other lottery winners elsewhere in England are following in suit.
Using their Spare Time to help others
Martin Cribb and Robert Ely are part of the syndicate that won a £1m EuroMillions prize four years ago. They decided to get to work building garden boxes and filling them with herbs, plants, shrubs and flowers. That has kept them busy during lockdown and with regulations easing, they’ve now been able to start distributing the boxes. It was EuroMillions syndicate leader, Martin, who began the project with help from his wife, Sarah. It found a use for his stored timber and when Robert heard what was happening, he soon got involved.Martin says that it’s their way of saying ‘thank you’ to our local key worker community.” The EuroMillions winner added: “It is fantastic to see an end result from our efforts and knowing that they are going to bring real cheer and smiles to the faces of the recipients.”The Jack n Jill Pre-School in Ipswich has already received their garden boxes. They are delighted with what they have been given. The Pre-School offers a safe and supportive place for young children of key workers.Nursery manager Michelle commented that the work ahead will “keep little minds and hands busy.” She can’t wait to see the finished planters and believes they will “bring some brightness and cheer for our key workers as they collect and drop off their children.”Others to benefit from the generosity of the EuroMillions winners include the Felixstowe Road Medical Practice and the Treehouse in Ipswich.
Other Lottery Winners busy too
Garden box making by National Lottery winners is happening in other areas of England too. Daniel and Charlotte Peart also won £1m playing EuroMillions. It just happens that Daniel is a carpenter, so he’s been making planter boxes. They will be donated to the children of key workers at the Alderman Jacobs Primary School. Also receiving some will be local police officers. In Rotherham, £1.7M UK Lotto winners, Trish Emson and Graham Norton have been busy too. They have made and donated planter boxes to the James Montgomery Academy Trust hub at Wath Central Primary School. It's easy to purchase your EuroMillions tickets at Lottery24.
