A Year to Remember Planned After Big EuroMillions Win

The 39-year-old had been on his way to the airport for a weekend break, when seeing an advert for the March 1 EuroMillions draw. He’s not a regular player, perhaps only buying 30 tickets since the lottery was introduced.With big prizes to be won, he decided to go online and buy a ticket. While in Budapest, he received an email from Camelot informing him of his EuroMillions win. He couldn’t get online and thought it was only a small win so carried on with his weekend break.

Ending the Sunday Slump

Back in England and feeling a bit down with his holiday over and work on Monday, he finally logged into his account. Leigh, who believes himself to be “quite a lucky chap” discovered his EuroMillions win was £226,436. He declared his discovery was “an easy way to shift the Sunday slump.”The EuroMillions winner has been “sensible” with his finances for the past five years. Towards the end of 2018, he was made redundant. Luckily, he soon found a job as a resource scheduler at the BBC. This big win puts him ten years ahead of his budget and he believes “I’ve been given 10 years of fun back.”

A Year to Remember

They say life begins at 40, and with Leigh set to hit that landmark this year he has plenty planned. He already has a five-star holiday booked for Australia and New Zealand to celebrate his birthday. Now the EuroMillions winner says he can “think about a few extras to really make this a year to remember.”
