€500,000 Daily Millions Plus Ticket Hidden in Album Cover

A man from Dublin won a €500,000 Daily Millions Plus prize in the April 4 draw. Immediately he became worried the ticket might be lost so he hid it in an album cover.

The lucky Daily Millions Plus winner has asked to remain anonymous. However, he has spoken about his incredible slice of luck. 

It was on the day of the draw that his soon to be winning ticket was purchased. Not that it cost him anything as he’d won a Daily Millions Plus ticket in a previous Irish Lotto draw.

When he went to check his ticket, the girl behind the counter told him he’d need to call the lottery as it was too big a win to pay in cash. Wouldn’t we all love to be told that one day?

Completely stunned

Unsure of how much he’d won, the Dubliner said “I didn’t think much of it at first.” He didn’t immediately make the life-changing call. Instead, he went for a walk and then finally made the call. “That’s when I was told I had won half a million euro and I was completely stunned,” he recalled.

It was a few days before he could claim his big win. Not wanting to miss out, he became “petrified” of losing his Daily Millions Plus ticket. Being a big music fan, he took his ticket and hid it in one of his albums. 

Some old vinyl albums are worth a lot of money but few have ever had a €500,000 winning ticket inside them.

It stayed there until the night before he was due to claim his winnings. He then moved the ticket to his jacket pocket, zipped up for safety. He then took it into his bedroom, “keeping one eye on it all night.” 

Gardening time

All week had been spent thinking how he could spend his windfall. After some sleepless nights his win was finally claimed. He now plans to buy a new hedge trimmer and make other garden and home improvements. Some new vinyl records might also be purchased.
