El Niño Draw on Wednesday
El Niño Draw on Wednesday
You might think that all the Christmas related festivities are all over for another year. Well, that’s not the case as Wednesday January 6th sees Spain hold the El Niño draw and this has a total prize fund of €700 million. The good news is that there is still some time left to buy a ticket from Lottery24.
A Spanish TraditionThe El Niño draw is a Spanish tradition and just like the El Gordo de Navidad, the year wouldn’t be the same without it. Why is it held on January 6th? This is a special date because this is when those Three Kings from the East finally reached Bethlehem. Once there, they visited the baby Jesus and gave the child their gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. An English translation of El Niño is ‘The Child’ so you can see the importance of this draw. Those three gifts aren’t included in the massive prize fund but there are some great prizes to be won. Just as is the case with the El Gordo de Navidad lottery, children have an important part to play in the El Niño draw. Again, it’s children who will be drawing out the all-important numbers.
Great prizes to be wonThis isn’t your regular lottery draw. There are a total of 100,000 tickets printed with codes that are numbered from 00000 to 99999. There are 50 copies of each ticket and they are split up into ten shares. The most common purchase is to buy a tenth share, this being known as a decimo.
If a decimo is purchased, you receive a tenth of the prize. The jackpot in the El Niño is a fantastic €2m, so you’d receive €200,000. Now that’s a great way to start the new year.
The El Niño draw has lots of other prizes though. The second-tier win is €75,000 with the third-tier awarding players €25,000. The minimum win is €20,so taking part in the El Niño could be well worth your time, so buy one from our site right away.
