Lottery24 - A Spar shop sells €11m Irish Lotto ticketThe owners of a Spar shop in Dublin city centre have revealed that it was them that sold the winning €11.3 million Lotto ticket this weekend, but they’re still not sure who bought it.As we told you yesterday, the Irish Lotto was won this weekend, and the staff at the Top Service Station in Amiens Street, Dublin 1, said that they were delighted to have been told by Irish Lotto officials that they sold the winning ticket for last night’s draw. The jackpot, which was worth €11,345,002, was the second highest Irish Lotto jackpot of 2016, and it was won from a Quick Pick ticket that was purchased on Saturday, just hours before the draw took place. The store isn’t far from the retailer on O’Connell Street, which sold a €113,661 winning Irish Lotto ticket earlier this year.The staff members admitted, however, that the store was so busy they aren’t sure which one of them sold the winning ticket, but they said that they were delighted for whichever of their customers has become an overnight millionaire. “We’re delighted, it’s great news, especially coming up to Christmas,” said Craig Madden, the 20-year-old assistant manager of the store. He also went on to say that the store has been busier than ever since they revealed their big sell, “The place has been absolutely buzzing all morning,” he said.Earlier this year, a syndicate of Dublin bus drivers shared a £20 million EuroMillions win, and last year another mystery Dublin winner was €7.3 million richer thanks to the Irish Lotto. The winning numbers on Saturday night were 2, 6, 21, 23, 29 and 44, and the Bonus Number was 41. The store is located on a main road, within a Top Service Garage, so Mr Madden admitted that the lucky winner could be anyone. “We have a lot of local customers but with us being on the main road, we get a lot of passing trade like taxis and couriers, customers we wouldn’t see on a daily basis so it really could have been anyone,” he explained.The locals are all hoping it’s them, however, as Mr Madden said that they’ve had a steady queue of people at the store all day, lining up to get their tickets checked. The store is now being dubbed one of Dublin’s luckiest, like when a man from Massachusetts won $1 million on a scratch card he’d bought from a lucky retailer.
