A dream wedding is on the cards for a couple from the Australian state of Victoria thanks to their good fortune on the Tatts Lotto earlier this month.

The couple from Blackburn, Victoria won their prize as one of nine division one entries in the Tatts Lotto drawing on November 3rd. They took home a grand total of $463,786.45.

Waiting on the winners

The couple came forward to claim their prize almost a week after the draw took place. Their entry was not immediately registered and officials were unable to contact them with the good news. However, the winners said that when they did find out about their lottery luck, it was a welcome surprise. “I’m a bit shocked” the winning woman said, “I’m so happy about it. I just think ‘oh my gosh – is this real?’”

The couple were asked how they plan to spend their Tatts Lotto winnings. They said they have recently become engaged and their prize money will help them pay for their dream wedding.

Prize plans

The couple also plan to use their winnings to clear some bills and help out some family members. “It has definitely come at a good time,” she said, adding that they won’t spend all of the money on their wedding. Some of the prize will also be put away for the future. The winning ticket was purchased from Mooroolbark Lotto Centre in Mooroolbark, Victoria. The division one winner was the third Tatts Lotto winning ticket that they’ve sold in just five months. The store also sold a $2 million winner in June 2018 and one worth over $4 million in September 2018. Staff said that they were delighted to have sold another one. “We must be a lucky store!” the owner exclaimed.
