Dream Holiday for £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery Winner

A dream holiday is being planned after Sarah Barnes won a £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery prize. The social worker from Consett in County Durham, England was one of three players winning that amount in the October 13 draw.

Off to Disney World?

Sarah, 44, was left in shock after being tod on her doorstep about her People’s Postcode Lottery win. “It feels like a dream. A really bizarre, really strange feeling, a very happy feeling.” Now the mother-of-two wants to take her sons on a holiday of a lifetime with Disney World a possible destination. All because, her postcode of DH8 0RW was chosen.
Before that though, there’s her upcoming 45th birthday. That will see her celebrating the People’s Postcode Lottery win with members of her family.

Also planned is spending some of her winnings on home improvements. Her People’s Postcode Lottery win will help pay for a new kitchen. That’s something she’s wanted for a while, but it kept being put off.
It’s amazing

Sarah wasn’t the only one shocked by news of the People’s Postcode Lottery win. Well, you don’t expect people turning up on your doorstep to say you’ve won £30,000. Her husband, Steve and son couldn’t believe what happened until seeing the cheque. “My son ran around the house making little videos, dead happy shouting, 'It’s amazing, it’s amazing!” said the delighted winner.

Mrs Barnes was also pleased to hear that two of her neighbours had both won a £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery prize. “"Everybody round here are all hard-working, good people and for the people on the street to win something like this, it's spreading something great." The other two winners have opted to remain anonymous, but will no doubt be busy celebrating their win.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt was pleased to tell Sarah the great news. Judie enjoyed returning to Consett as it’s near to where she grew up. In fact, she went to school with Sarah’s husband Steve. Judie now hopes all the winners “go and treat themselves and enjoy celebrating."
