Double Celebration for £166,666 Postcode Lottery Winner

Kelly from Staplehurst in Kent, England was overjoyed when winning a £166,666 Postcode Lottery prize. Her day got even better when giving a cheque for that amount to her father Tony who was also a winner. Four other players also won £166,666.

The hairdresser said the fact her father had also won made it a special occasion. “You dream of winning the lottery,” she said and added: “But to win it with my parents - it’s just incredible.” Presenting the cheque to him wasn’t easy as she was still shaking after receiving hers.

Money, Money, Money

Tony is a retired engineer and joked that earlier that day he’d heard Abba singing "Money, Money, Money,” and had said “That’s an omen!” It’s the latest big  Postcode Lottery win in Kent after players had a big win in November 2023 .

Earlier his house had been hit by power cuts leading to the doorbell going off several times with no one there. Little could he have imagined that later when it rang, his daughter would be there with a £166,666 cheque.

Tony and his wife Sharon have lived in their current home for over 30 years. His daughter Kelly moved away for a time but then returned to Staplehurst and just a few houses away from her parents with her husband Jason.

Later this year Tony celebrates his 70th birthday and a big family holiday is being planned. The Postcode Lottery winner says they’ll now be able to do things without any financial worries attached.

Off to New York

Kelly is also planning a celebration but next year. Her husband turns 50 in 2025 and a trip to New York is on its way. “I was thinking I might need to save for a year but obviously, I don’t need to now.”

December 2024 saw her brother Marcus win a £1,000 premium bonds prize last December. He’s been bragging ever since but his sister has topped that success. “I might have some fun and send pictures of the cheque to him at random times." she joked.
