DON’T TELL THIS £1M EUROMILLIONS WINNER FRIDAY THE 13TH IS UNLUCKY
They say that Friday the 13
th is an unlucky day but the chances are that Nigel Willetts from Bedwas near Caerphilly in Wales, will disagree with that statement. It was on Friday 13 June 2014 that he won a £1m EuroMillions prize. He returned to the store where he bought his winning EuroMillions ticket to unveil a golden lottery stand.Friday the 13
th was a day when luck really was on the pub landlords side. When he purchased his winning EuroMillions ticket, he accidentally pulled out a £20 note and as there was a rollover, he decided to spend all of It on tickets rather than the £10 he was going to spend. He’s not a superstitious man but said after his win, “when you realise it’s Friday the 13
th it is on your mind.” We previously told you of superstitions that could help you win a EuroMillions Superdraw.Four years after his big EuroMillions win, Willets unveiled the golden lottery ticket stand at Tesco in Crossways Retail Park in Caerphilly. That’s not just the store where he bought his winning EuroMillions ticket but where his win was confirmed as he wasn’t too sure he’d really won a £1m EuroMillions prize. He spoke about how his life has been “amazing” since his £1m EuroMillions win. The windfall allowed him to buy out the Bridgend Inn and make some investments. In England, £1m EuroMillions winners Jill and Steve Walsh turned their garage into a pub. Pub landlords must be lucky as Ian Brooke of he Mallard Pub in Lincolnshire won £1.06m in a EuroMillions draw. He’s also been able to take his family on several holidays which is “something we could only have dreamt of before that lucky day in 2014.” He’s also the founder of the GoAir trampoline park in Cardiff, Wales. The Golden Lottery stand features Mr Willett’s handprint. He commented: “I hope that this gold playstation will bring a little bit of extra luck to Caerphilly players, so our millionaires club can grow even bigger. Lots of people jokingly ask me to rub their ticket for luck, now everyone can rub my lucky handprint instead.”Some other players in Wales have already had good lottery luck. Arthur Griffiths from Bridgend was also lucky enough to win £1m playing EuroMillions. Also celebrating were a syndicate of catering staff at Neath Port Talbot Hospital who won a £25m EuroMillions jackpot.Try your hand at the lottery game and play online with us at Lottery24.com.
