Discovered Christmas Present Wins $102,000 Lucky Lotteries Prize

While we eagerly await this year’s Christmas presents, a woman from New South Wales, Australia recently got a shock from a 2023 gift. It had won her a $102,000 Lucky Lotteries prize.

The Alexandria resident recently moved house. While sorting her belongings out, she discovered a Lucky Lotteries ticket for the December 28, 2023 draw. Amazingly, it was a big winner and hadn’t expired.

Incredible surprise

“It’s an incredible surprise,” said the lucky winner who added: “I can’t believe it took me nearly a year to discover my win!”

The Lucky Lotteries ticket was a Christmas gift from her mother. Only when clearing out her bedside drawers was the ticket discovered.  Of course it could have just been a losing ticket with no value at all. When it was checked though, the exact opposite was the case and the discovery that it was worth $102,000.

“Can you imagine if I’d completely forgotten about it?!” said the shocked Lucky Lotteries winner.

“This has to be the best Christmas present ever!” she added. It’s happened before though, a man from New South Wales found  a scratchcard given as a Christmas present two years previously and it also won $100,000.

Time off work

Also celebrating a Lucky Lotteries win is a male player from Albury, also in New South Wales. He found out about his win a bit sooner though as it came in the draw held on November 7. In total, he won a fantastic $101,000.

When speaking to the lottery company about his win, he joked: “I guess I could take the rest of the week off work!”

He’s been playing the Lucky Lotteries draw for around ten years but never had a great deal of success. “That’s why I’m keeping my cool,” he said.

Some of his winnings will be used to pay off his house and the lucky player says “that’s a great feeling.”  He already has travel planned at the end of 2023 so part of his winnings will add to the enjoyment he’ll have from those trips.
