COUPLE DISCOVER £1M EUROMILLIONS WIN WHILE ON HOLIDAY
Annette and Andrew Dawson from Bolton in Lancashire, England, had to borrow money from Andrew's mother to go on holiday to Bulgaria. While there, they discovered they'd won £1m and a holiday on the island of Song Saa in the August 28 EuroMillions Mega Friday draw.Annette, 40, received an email from the National Lottery asking her to check her online account. The trouble was she couldn't access her account while in Bulgaria. She texted her sister and asked her to check believing there might be a small win that could add to their holiday spending budget.Initially her sister thought the win was just £1,000 but then realized her mistake and sent another text telling her the win was actually £1m. That's like Ruth and Peter Doyle from England, who thought their £1m EuroMillions win was just £25.Dawson thought it was a joke, but when she called her sister and she started crying, she realized she was being serious. Now she says their days of struggling to pay their bills are over. That's just like the Australia lottery winners who said their win meant they didn't have to live on 'Struggle Street' anymore. The Dawson family immediately embarked on a spending spree in Bulgaria, but the only thing Annette could find was a suit for herself that cost £38.Despite becoming millionaires, Mrs Dawson isn't planning on giving up her job as an accountant. Andrew, 44, will continue to be a retail manager at a ski shop. Perhaps they'll have to ask to take time off for their next holiday, as John Sefton did after his £1m EuroMillions win. Staying on in your jobs isn't uncommon. Trish Emersonfrom England kept working after her £1.7m UK Lotto windfall. Neither did Stephen and Tana Harrod' from Kansas, USA, who won $9.5m on the Hot Lotto.Spending plans for the EuroMillions win include paying off their debts and mortgage and putting some aside for their two daughters. Annette has already put down a deposit on her dream car - an Audi TT - and her husband wants a jeep. The next big winner could be you, so purchase your lottery tickets online at Lottery24.com.
