“Class” Win Turns Out to be €6.75 million Irish Lotto Jackpot

It took a man from Dublin, Ireland  three days to find out he was a lottery millionaire. He’d won a €6.75 million UK Lotto jackpot in the August 17 draw.

The lucky Dubliner says he only plays the Irish Lotto draw when there is a huge jackpot. In total he won  €6,756,855, far more than he initially thought.

It was the Tuesday after the draw when he saw an email telling him he’d won over €100. “Class” he thought to himself but he had no idea he’d won the jackpot. Only when opening his app was the amazing truth revealed. Toni Henderson from County Durham, England  initially believed her £1 million National Lottery win was £1,700.

Surreal

“It was such a surreal moment,” said the jubilant Irish Lotto winner. Despite becoming a millionaire though, he says there are no plans to give up his job.

He’ll need some time off though as one of his dreams is to travel more. He also wants to share some of his Irish Lotto winnings with his family. The sensible winner is going to get some financial advice on how best to use the rest of his windfall.

Also recently collecting a big lottery prize was a man from Mayo in Ireland. He won €1,005,000 in the September 21 EuroMillions draw.

All shook up

His winning ticket was bought on the National Lottery app using the quick pick option on its shake feature. He shook his phone, saw the balls spin around and chose his numbers for him. What a way to become a millionaire!

The lucky player also initially underestimated how much he’d won. At first he thought just €5,000 had been won. Then he saw a local player had won €1 million and it turned out to be him. His luck has been in of late as just two days beforehand he won a holiday. “They say things come in threes, so let’s see if my streak continues.”

Perhaps it might happen on Friday when the EuroMillions jackpot is a fantastic €160 million (£133 million).
