CHOOSING ANNIVERSARIES MAY NOT WIN YOU THE EUROMILLIONS SUPERDRAW JACKPOT
The next EuroMillions Superdraw takes place on Friday March 6 with a guaranteed €100m jackpot. Looking back at previous results it seems including numbers over 31 and ignoring single figure numbers may have been a key to success. The Superdraws also see more tickets winning cash prizes. The first EuroMillions Superdraw held in February 2007 produced a Belgian jackpot winner but the five main numbers didn’t include any single figure numbers. The number of second, third and fourth tier winners showed big increases for that first Superdraw.Three of the first four EuroMillions Superdraws saw single figure numbers absent in the five main balls drawn. The increase in the number of winners continued. The Superdraw held on February 8, 2008 saw 4,380 tickets match four main balls and one Lucky Star compared to 1,126 for the previous EuroMillions draw.We had to wait until the sixth EuroMillions Superdraw in September 2009 for the five main balls to include a single figure number. That trend was blown out of the window for the Superdraw held in October 2010 when three of the five main balls were single figure numbers. Surprisingly though no ticket was able to win the jackpot, though the lowest winning prize tier saw nearly a million more players win than in the previous draw.In all, six of the first nine EuroMillions Superdraws failed to include a single figure number drawn among the five main balls. The last four Superdraws have all seen a single figure number drawn out but only once was the jackpot won.For those of you who like your statistics, you can also have a look at the countries which have been most successful in previous Superdraws.Back to numbers however, and the stats suggest that if you only use anniversaries or birthdays to choose your numbers, then you would have ruled yourself out of winning the jackpot in all EuroMillions Superdraws. Every Superdraw has seen numbers above 31 drawn out but we wait to see if that trend will continue this year.As for Lucky Stars, well the number 8 has been drawn out on four occasions with the numbers 1,2,4,5 and 6 drawn out three times. Number 3 has been drawn out just once and that was back in February 2010. Also just drawn once are 10 and 11, so could they be the keys to success in March? What’s for sure is that next month’s EuroMillions Superdraw is well worth buying tickets for, because who knows, you could follow in the footsteps of some of the biggest Superdraw jackpot winners.
