Change of Scratchcard Leads to $2 million Win

Are their scratchcards that you love playing. A man from Michigan, USA, had his favourite ones to play but it was another scratchcard game that ended up seeing him win a $2 million prize.

The 60-year-old (who has chosen to remain anonymous) went to a Speedway gas station in Midland, Michigan, to buy some scratchcards. He loves to play the Ultimate Millions or $60,000,000 Cash Blowout scratchcards but none were available.

Big decision

That left him with a big decision to make. Should he go elsewhere and hopefully find some of his favourite scratchcards? Or should he try a game that had just been launched? He chose the latter option and bought the new Lucky X100 scratchcard. It’s proved to be the best decision he’s ever made.

He returned to his car and his life suddenly changed. The scratchcard had won a $2 million prize. The lucky player admits that left him in “total shock.” Right away he got on the phone to his wife and told her he was returning home and had “amazing news.”

It’s not his first scratchcard win but by far the largest. “I have won smaller amounts of a couple of hundred dollars in the past,” he said when claiming his winnings. “I always believed I would win a big prize one day,” he added.

Can’t believe it

He may have had that belief, but the Michigan resident still can’t believe that it has finally happened to him. The scratchcard winner had another decision to make, namely, how to receive his winnings. He decided to go for a one-off lump sum payment of $1.3 million. He could have opted to get the full $2 million but that would be over 30 annual payments.

Plans for his windfall include buying a new car. He also plans on investing some of his winnings and sharing some with his family.

Previously another man from Michigan won a $2 million scratchcard prize. He’d been given the wrong scratchcard by mistake but opted to keep the one he received and became a millionaire.
