Change of Plan for $4.8m Set for Life Winner

Do you ever get a day when you have everything planned out and then it all gets changed? That was the case for a woman from Burraneer in Sydney, Australia.  It was for a good reason though as she found out she’d won a $4.8 million Set for Life prize in the June 22 draw.

Her ticket was the only division one winner, and it gives her $20,000 a month for 20 years. However, the lucky Set for Life winner (who has asked to remain anonymous) did not have a clue that her ticket had been a winner.

Then came the most shocking but brilliant phone call of her life. The Lott were on the other end of the phone and told her of her amazing win. “Oh my god! That is absolutely amazing,” was her initial reaction.

That first phone call from The Lott didn’t convince her that she’d won.  In fact, she thought it might even be someone trying to scam her. Then she went online to check her Set for Life ticket and discovered she really had won.

All these phone calls got her husband wondering just what was going on.  He was delighted when finally told the news. Her day had all been planned with some appointments confirmed but that all changed. “I am going to cancel everything!” the Set for Life winner said.

What was she going to do next?  “As soon as I get off the phone to you, I am going to lay on the ground and let this all sink in!“I just can’t believe I am a multi-millionaire!” said the still in shock winner. There was one new appointment scheduled though. “Tonight, we will go out for dinner to celebrate.”

Plans for her Set for Life windfall include renovating her house. “I would absolutely love a new kitchen,” she said with a smile. Helping her family is also planned. When possible, there are also plans to travel around Australia and “enjoy our retirement.”
