Change of Numbers Wins $795,000 TattsLotto Prize

A man from Carrum Downs in Victoria, Australia, has no idea why he chose the number 31. He’s glad he did though as it helped him win a $795,000 TattsLotto division one prize on his birthday.

He was one of seven division one winners in the April 15 TattsLotto draw and his luck was really in. Not only did he win a division one prize but also 27 other prizes taking his overall winnings to $795,416.33.

It could all have been a very different story for the TattsLotto player. Saturday April 15 was already going well for the man who wishes to remain anonymous. He was at his parent’s because it just happened to be his birthday. That meant a big celebration but it was soon to get even better.

They decided to watch the live broadcast of the TattsLott hoping for a birthday win. The lucky player had been playing the same numbers for many years but he was in for a big shock as he’d changed his selection.

Wasn’t too sure

He saw the numbers drawn and knew that he had them all. Then number 31 was drawn and he “wasn’t too sure” about that one. At that stage he thought his win was just $961.05. Then he looked again at his selection.

“I did indeed have number 31! I don’t know why I even chose number 31 in the first place because I usually choose number 33!” He jokingly said that 31 is “my new favourite number.”

Unforgettable day

With a division one win now confirmed, the celebrations resumed. “There was a lot of yelling from there - it’s a birthday I’ll never forget!” he said.

His TattsLotto win will be put to good use. “I’ve been looking at relocating closer to the city for quite some time now.” An apartment was going to be purchased but then the pandemic came along to scupper his plans. “Now, I can finally look at calling an apartment my very own!” said the delighted TattsLotto winner.
