Some lottery winners can’t wait to take foreign holidays. Not Sheena Clayton from Northallerton in North Yorkshire, England. Trips to Wales and Scotland are being planned after her £110,340.60 EuroMillions win on November 22.
That’s because her plan is to purchase a new caravan with some of her EuroMillions windfall. The mother-of-two sons (aged nine and 11) says that a caravan “is something we have always wanted as a family.” Having one means they “can go on lots of adventures with the boys.”
The 37-year-old carer has been saving up for one but now there’s no need to do that. Sheena added that the family can “start our adventures even sooner!” The family are already planning where to go with Wales and the Scottish coast top of their list.
Angela Lister from neighbouring South Yorkshire recently won a £166.666 Postcode Lottery prize.
Nearly didn’t happen
It’s a win that nearly didn’t happen. Sheena had been working a night shift and completely forgotten to buy a ticket for the November 22 draw. Then one of her sons wanted something so off she went to Tesco and finally remembered to buy a ticket.
When she realised her ticket had won a massive prize, Sheena just couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Was someone playing a joke on her? That wasn’t the case though. It can be difficult coping with a big win. “I went from screaming to crying to just feeling in total shock,” said the EuroMillions winner. Winning so much money still “doesn’t feel real,” she added.
Other plans for her EuroMillions windfall include a new sofa and the best family Christmas ever. Sheena has no plans to cut down on her working hours. Just four hours after finding out about her win, off she went to begin her next work shift.
Jackpot win
It’s already been a big week for one ticket holder in France. The owner(s) won a €77,5 million jackpot in Tuesday’s draw. That puts France level with the UK on 130 jackpot winning tickets sold.
