CANADIAN LOTTO MAX WINNER TO SPLIT PRIZE WITH HER DAUGHTER
A lottery winner from Dartmouth in the Atlantic Canada province of Nova Scotia has declared she’ll be sharing her $1m Lotto Max prize with her daughter.Marilyn Boylan told lottery officials that she’d spent most of her life looking out for others above herself, and that after she won the $1 million prize on the national game, she decided that there was no need to change the habit of a lifetime. In fact, as soon as she found out that she’d won the $1 million Lotto Max prize on January 6th, she called her daughter and told her that she was going to split the prize with her. Lots of lottery winners are generous with her winnings, including a UK Lotto winner who wanted to share his £1 million win with his children, and a couple of friends from California who shared a 10 million 30th Anniversary scratchcard win.Marilyn and her daughter Tracy picked up their Lotto Max cheque together a week later, on Thursday January 12th, at the offices of the Atlantic Lottery in Dartmouth, close to the province’s capital Halifax. “I always told my children I was going to win the lottery someday,” Ms Boylan told lottery officials, while her daughter recalled some of the best examples of her mother’s kind heart, including welcoming less fortunate people into their home while working full time as a single mother, just like a EuroMillions winner from Chichester in England.“I worked long hours to put food in their stomach, a roof over their head and clothes on their back,” Ms Boylan said, explaining that she did what she had to do to get through tough times and help out others. The Lotto Max winner now plans to use her good fortune to travel, so she said that the top of her to do list is applying for a new passport so that she can go to England and attend Crufts, the world’s largest dog show. Another recent Atlantic Canadian Lotto 649 winner decided to take her winnings travelling around the world, and keeping to that theme a Nova Scotia winner planned to buy a new mobile home with his Lotto Max prize.Ms Boylan purchased her ticket from the Family Drug Centre on Portland Street in Dartmouth, and the store will receive a bonus worth one percent of the $1 million prize for selling the winning ticket.Try your luck at the lottery game this week and purchase your tickets online at Lottery24.com.
