Brilliant  Christmas for Weekday Windfall and Set for Life Winners

We all dream of a big lottery win just before Christmas. That dream has come true for two players who live in the Australian state of New South Wales.

One is a grandmother from Kellyville who won $1 million in the December 16 Weekday Windfall draw. The lucky player is certainly a patient one. Speaking about her win, she revealed that for about 30 years she’s been playing the same numbers.

“This has made my Christmas!” said the delighted Weekday Windfall winner. Not just for her though, “It’s going to make the whole family’s Christmas,” she added.

The money won’t go astray

With plenty of children and grandchildren, the Kellyville resident joked: “the money won’t go astray.” It won’t just be spent on fancy Christmas presents though. “I’ll be able to help with their mortgages and other things,” the Weekday Windfall winner added.

Also celebrating is a man from Bathurst in New South Wales. He won a $4.8 million Set for Life jackpot on December 12. He’ll be receiving $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

Could it be me?

He hadn’t seen the draw but had seen that the jackpot had been won and wondered if he might be the lucky winner. His ticket had been registered so The Lott knew who the winner was. Two calls to the winner weren’t answered but it made the winner suspicious so he finally checked his ticket.

He’s a lucky player because earlier this year he was also part of a winning lottery syndicate. The Set for Life winner says that despite becoming a millionaire, he won’t let it change who he is. To illustrate that he won’t be quitting his job. That’s unlike  the recent $50 million Oz Lotto winner  who has already quit working.

“Honestly, I’m pretty calm! I don’t think I’ll do anything to celebrate right away,” said the surprised Set for Life winner. How will he be using his winnings?  He replied: “I’m not sure what I’ll do with the prize yet. I’ll have a good think about it.”
