Boring Rainy Holiday Transformed by £1 million Lottery Win

England is famous for its often terrible weather. However, six years ago it led to Jodie Langston from Northfield in Birmingham winning a £1 million lottery prize. The lucky winner has been talking about how that win has changed her life.

First time lucky

In 2019, Jodie was in a caravan while on a family holiday with her parents. It was raining outside and to deal with the boredom, she decided for the first time to play the Run For Your Money Instant Win Game. A boring holiday turned into a celebration when the game won her £1 million.

Not quite believing what was happening. Jodie rushed to her parent’s caravan and asked them to check her phone. After a third check her father told his daughter to calm down. Suddenly the fact it was still raining didn’t matter at all.

Once the lottery win was confirmed, the next few hours saw lots of tears and laughter. The family also discussed just how the £1 million could be spent.

Jodie’s first purchase was a pair of UGG boots and she still has them in her wardrobe. “They’re a constant reminder of winning on The National Lottery winner,” she said. Remember  all the major lottery results are on Lottery24.

A house and a new car were later purchased. Jodie has reduced her working hours as a mortgage underwriter.

Dream wedding

July 2024 saw Jodie have her dream wedding to Alex. It took place in a huge country house with nine bridesmaids and the same number of groomsmen.

The delighted bride said “There’s no way I could have afforded such a special wedding without my National Lottery win.” The same applies to their Greek honeymoon.

Every Christmas since her lottery win has been a special one. It’s a time of the year that she loves and plenty of extra special treats were bought for her family and friends with Alex dressing up as Father Christmas.
