Big Changes for £1million Scratchcard Winner

Sandy Doyle from Salisbury in England will retire after winning a £1m scratchcard prize. This will enable her to spend more time caring for her father.

The 58-year-old grandmother has been working at a warehouse but that is all going to change thanks to this £1million scratchcard win.

Her winning scratchcard was purchased on a Sunday morning from a One Stop Shop in Salisbury. The Wiltshire resident wanted to buy a newspaper but while in the shop she also decided to buy two Match a Million Scratchcards.

Disbelief

Sandy was at home and having a cup of coffee when she decided to find out if her scratchcards had won anything. Little did she know her life was about to change forever. The first of them was the one that won her £1million. In total disbelief, she put the scratchcard to one side and scratched he other revealing a £10 win.

"I then looked back at the other one, rubbed my eyes and signed the back just in-case, said the £1million scratchcard winner. She phoned one of her daughters who didn’t believe the news and Sandy joked: “I’m not sure I did either.”

Time to retire

Finally, the scratchcard win was confirmed and then the decision to retire was made. It’s good news for her as it has been a struggle to both work and care for her father. The £1million winner says retirement means she will “have more time to cherish precious moments with him.”

Other plans for her £1million scratchcard win include helping her two daughters and grandchildren. That included going to the beach at Easter. Not just to have some fun by the sea but also “to plan the future,” said the lucky player.

A bungalow may be bought in the future and a trip to France next year to see the Rugby World Cup. Sandy has a cousin who lives in Atlanta, Georgia so she’ll be going to America to see them for the first time in two years. A road trip to Las Vegas will follow.
