Big Celebration on the way for £250,000 Postcode Lottery Winner

It’s going to be party time for a grandmother from Coleshill in Warwickshire, England after a £250,000 Postcode Lottery win. All of which will make her upcoming golden wedding anniversary in March even more special.

Beverley Hawkesford plans to hire a local pub for the day so she and husband Andy can celebrate in style.

The retired receptionist began playing the Postcode Lottery after her friends Emma and Lee  won £60,000 five years ago. Before that she didn’t know a great deal about the Postcode Lottery but decided to try her luck.

However, she then felt doing so might not be the best of ideas. The Postcode Lottery winner said: “I thought, 'That's silly because you're not going to get another lottery win on a B46 postcode,' and now here we are. I shall be texting her to say, 'Thank you very much, Emma.'"

Lucky us

Beverley admits she initially thought her win was a lot less than £250,000. “I thought it was £25,000 and didn't even realise, and then I suddenly saw the other nought." The shocked player added: “I thought, 'That comma is in the wrong place.' Lucky us!"  The English county of  Kent also had a double Postcode Lottery success.

The couple had already booked holidays in Spain and Crete and confessed to being “sun worshippers.”  They won’t have to worry about any spending money problems now.

Recently Andy had to have a pacemaker fitted, while his wife suffered a stroke a couple of years ago.

Hang on!

Her husband used to work for HMV and loves his music. Now he says: “I can buy some more records now and I've got a lot of records in mind. In my basket, I have a Toots and the Maytals reggae record,” he said. His wife butted in to joke: “”Hang on! Whose ticket won again?"

An Elvis fan wanted to  go to Graceland after his £640,000 Postcode Lottery win.
They have two daughters and a couple of granddaughters. Beverley can’t wait to start giving them some presents.
