August To Begin with a $1.05bn Mega Millions Jackpot

Wouldn’t it be great to start August by winning a $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot? That’s the prize up for grabs in the draw on Tuesday August 1.

For the second time this year the Mega Millions jackpot has gone through the $1 billion mark. Tuesday will see players attempting to win the fourth largest ever jackpot in the history of the lottery. Will a ticket bought from Lottery24 be the winner?

Huge demand for tickets expected

With there expected to be huge demand for tickets, the Mega Millions jackpot may be even higher come draw time.

The most recent draw was on Friday July 28 with a $910 million top prize. No ticket was able to match 05-10-28-52-63 and the Mega Ball 18. There were five tickets that were able to match the five main balls, each winning $1 million.

The largest ever win was the $1.537 billion won by a ticket sold in South Carolina five years ago. Earlier this year, there were celebrations in Maine after a $1.348 billion win.

Lucky numbers?

Tuesdays’ jackpot has a cash value option of $527.9 million but what numbers could land you the top prize?

The past two draws have seen five numbers between 03 and 10 be drawn. Number 05 has come out in both of the last two draws so it might be a surprise if that appears in Tuesday’s $1.05 billion draw.

In the past three draws there’s been no sign of numbers ranging from 11-27. One or more may well be due therefore. The July 21 draw was a nightmare for those choosing low numbers. None lower than 29 appeared in that draw.

01 hasn’t been seen since the May 12 draw so could make an appearance on Tuesday. When the Mega Millions jackpot was last won on April 18, it was perfect for those using birthdays or anniversaries. All the main numbers were in the 07-25 range, a set like that on August 1 might just produce another jackpot winner.
