Amazing Feeling of Winning $2.9m X Lotto Prize

The use of the same numbers “for years and years” has finally paid off for a couple from Adelaide, Australia. They won $2.9 million in the X Lotto draw held on Saturday 12 June.

It didn’t take the couple long to discover their amazing luck. They always check the results online son after the X Lotto draw has taken place. When they saw the numbers that had been drawn on June 12, they knew their luck was in.

"We've been using the same numbers for years and years, so we knew they were our numbers straight away." Despite that the winners, who have asked to remain anonymous, are still struggling to believe they are lottery millionaires.

Tears of Joy

The male half of the couple said that they both burst into tears and kept saying “no, it can’t be.” It seems the tears kept on flowing for a fair while. Good tears though as he said: “It’s such an amazing feeling. We're multi-millionaires – that's fantastic.”

The couple spent the weekend working out how to use their windfall. No surprise therefore that one of their first purchases will be their first home. Also planned is helping their family and making investments.

Becoming Grey Nomads

They plan on working for a “few years” but they do want to see an ambition of theirs fulfilled. That’s becoming “grey nomads”, so a caravan is also on their spending list.The general view of their X Lotto win is that “we aren’t going to go crazy, but we will certainly enjoy it."

Their winning X Lotto ticket was bought from Kilkenny Lotteries Kiosk. The owner is Kim Nguyen and he’s delighted with the news. “We were so excited to wake up to such great news on Sunday morning," she said, adding that it’s been a few years since they sold a division one winning entry.

The numbers that made the couple lottery millionaires were: 05,13,15,28,37,45 and the supplementary numbers 01 and 43. There were two division one winners, the other winning ticket being sold in Victoria.
