Actually It’s a $212,121 Lotto Max Win!
Tracey Liebenow from Iroquois in Ontario, Canada has won $212,121 in the August 6 Lotto Max draw but initially thought it was just $212.
The northern Ontario player says she’s been trying her luck on lotteries “now and then” for 20 years. Sometimes her own numbers are used, on other occasions the quick pick feature.
The healthcare worker nearly forgot to buy a ticket for the August 6 Lotto Max draw. Liebenow admits that it was a spontaneous decision to make the purchase that has won her $212,121.
After attending a concert with her husband, she decided to check her Lotto Max ticket to see if it had won anything. As is often the case when finding out you’ve had a win, she underestimated just how much had been won.
No glasses
The Lotto Max winner explained: “I scanned my ticket and said, ‘Oh wow! I won $212!’” A second look didn’t help as she hadn’t got her glasses on. Her husband was asked to take a glance and he saw how much had actually been won.
There were no instant celebrations though by the couple. Her husband said: “Let’s not overreact until we get home.”
When they arrived back home, they again scanned the Lotto Max ticket. When the $212,121 win was confirmed, they went out onto their porch and the celebrations finally began.
It’s the latest big Lotto Max win in Ontario. There have been five jackpots won in the province since April. $335 million has been won by players and most recently, a ticket that had been bought in the Timiskaming-Cochrane area won a $70 million Lotto Max jackpot.
Enjoy the win
Their family was told the news of their Lotto Max success. The reaction by their children to the news was to enjoy the win for themselves.
Plans for their Lotto Max win include paying off their house and going to see more concerts. Speaking about her win, Tracey said: “Winning feels awesome and surreal! I hope more people get to experience this winning feeling.”
