$50 million Australian Powerball Winner Finally Contacted

Missing a phone call is something that regularly happens. However, for a man from New South Wales in Australia, it was a rather important call. Attempts were being made to inform him that he’d won a $50 million Australian Powerball jackpot.

His big win came in the November 24 Australian Powerball draw. His entry was registered so that meant that The Lott already knew who the winner was. Getting him to answer his phone was the hard part! Several attempts were made to break the great news but no contact with him could be made.

Eventually they did make contact with the winner. Their ticket was the only one that successfully matched 06-09-14-25-27-31-33 and the Powerball 15.

His win is the 19th Australian Powerball division one winner this year.  Those wins have seen players take home over $664.39 million. New South Wales is a lucky state in which to play the draw as 11 of the 19 winners have come from there.

Mystery winner

The newest lottery millionaire in Australia said that he was still struggling to come to terms with what had happened. We’ll never know who the winner is. The Lott released a statement saying: “How they choose to enjoy their prize will remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate their life-changing win in private.”   Let’s all hope he enjoys his fantastic Australian Powerball win.

We do know that his winning ticket was purchased from Tull’s Newsagency Shop in Forster. That’s managed by Vanessa Deland who said she is ecstatic at the news that the $50 million Australian Powerball ticket had been sold in her shop.

A real buzz

“This is fantastic. It’s the biggest win we’ve ever had and it’s great because it’s been a while between wins,” said the shop owner. She added: “There’s been a real buzz around the store and throughout the town since it was announced and it’s fantastic to see. We’re over the moon and I hope this win makes all their dreams come true!”
