$35m Lotto Max Win After Playing for 40 Years

There was plenty of screaming when Rhonda Malesku discovered her $35 million Lotto Max win. The Canadian from Kamloops in British Columbia was one of two players who shared the massive $70 million jackpot in the July 25 draw.

Rhonda had gone shopping to buy some beach towels. While at the Walmart, a ticket for the next Lotto Max draw was purchased. Never did she imagine that it would turn her into a multi-millionaire.

In June we were talking about another couple from Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, who  received $35m in the Lotto Max.

Huge scream 

Malesku didn’t watch the draw live and it was the following morning when her amazing discovery was made. “I let out a huge scream and kept saying, 'I won 35 million dollars!"’ recalled the Lotto Max jackpot winner. 

Her husband Sam soon found out about the win. Then they were both shaking and trying to come to terms with their incredible news. Meanwhile their neighbours came out of their houses wondering if anything was wrong as the noisy celebrations continued.

Blown away 

The lucky winner says she is “blown away” with the news of her jackpot win. Next to find out about it was her daughter. It didn’t take long for her to join in the celebrations. They proved to be so hectic that the following morning they had to help each other put their makeup on.

The big win has been a long time coming. Rhonda has been playing lottery games for 40 years. Now her numbers have finally made her a multi-millionaire, she’s busy making plans on how to spend her Lotto Max windfall.

Dream homes 

Those include having new homes built for herself, her son and daughter. The generous Lotto Max winner will also give some of her winnings to other members of her family.   "I've always dreamed of being able to design my dream home and also set my family up, so now I can do both," said Malesku.

Some travelling is also being planned. The purchase of a new travel trailer and truck will enable her to explore the East Coast of Canada with family members joining her. The other $35 million winning Lotto Max ticket was sold in Alberta.
