$35m Lotto Max Jackpot Winners Still Shocked

Two lucky tickets shared the $70m Lotto Max jackpot in the draw held on June 6. Lahsen Rezrasi and Debbie Ramsay from Victoria in British Columbia, Canada can’t wait to celebrate their wedding anniversary after their great success. That will see them heading to Venice in Italy for the celebrations.

The couple say they are “still kind of shocked” about their big win. It hasn't stopped them playing the lottery, so another Lotto Max win might be on the way one day.

They had bought three Lotto Max tickets from a Quality Foods grocery store in View Royal.

It was Lahsen who made the amazing Lotto Max jackpot discovery. He was picking up his wife from work and getting some milk and cream, then checked their three tickets.

One won $10, the other a free play for another game, and the final won $35m. That ticket was checked several times before he began to weep and tell his wife their news.

“No more working for you”

He plans to carry on working but told his wife: “No more working for you.” Plans for their Lotto Max win include buying a house with an ocean view, a Mercedes camper van to travel around Canada in and helping their family.

Ramsay commented: “We’re going to go surprise relatives at the door to give them money. Helping family is the biggest thing for us, and we can’t wait to see their faces."

She didn’t initially believe him so several checks had to be made. Her husband has been playing Lotto Max at least two times a week since the draw began.

His wife has some advice for those who want to follow in their footsteps and become lottery millionaires: “Play the lotto. You don’t know when you’re going to win.”

The two jackpot winning tickets matched all seven Lotto Max numbers to share the top prize. The other half of the $70m Lotto Max jackpot was won by a ticket sold in Ontario. Over £130m has been won by Lotto Max players this year.
