$25,000 Win Turns out to be $25m Mega Millions Jackpot
Have you ever checked your lottery ticket and thought it was worth a lot less than it actually was? Well that's what Raul Ahumada from Noel in Missouri, USA, did this month. He initially thought his July 31 Mega Millions ticket had won $25,000 but it actually won the $25m jackpot. The 60-year-old didn't check his Mega Millions ticket until August 3rd and still believed he'd only won $25,000 when claiming his prize. Then the real value of his ticket was revealed and it became the 427th ticket sold in Missouri to win at least $1m since the lottery began in 1986.It's not uncommon to make such a mistake. Chi Vinh La from Winnipeg in Canada thought in May he'd only won $100,000 but had in fact won a $1m Lottery Max prize. Also mistaken were Charles and Deborah Bibbs in Virginia, USA, who thought they'd won $250,000 in April but then discovered they'd won $1m playing Mega Millions.Ahumada is a regular lottery player and works at a chicken processing plant. He purchased his Mega Millions ticket from the Rio Alce convenience store in Noel letting the computer pick his selection. His winning numbers were: 28-32-33-40-46 and the Mega Ball 10.The July 31 Mega Millions draw proved to be a lucky one for players from Missouri. Earlier this week we told you how Frank Schwent and Robert Adams won $20,000 in that draw. The lucky winner did speak briefly about his win but has refused to be photographed. Raul says that he and his wife, Rosa, plan to "try to find a nice mountain home and stay there." Ahumada also plans on possibly retiring in the future and maybe buying a "nice car", just like the $1m Mega Millions winner from Oak Harbour in Washington State who used his winnings to buy a Classic '56 Chevy. $5m Mega Millions winner Andy Ciaccio from Virgina splashed out on two new cars after his windfall in June.Raul also plans on going back to Mexico for the first time in 15 years to visit his family and his mother's grave. The estimated jackpot for next Mega Millions draw on Tuesday August 11th is $25m: don’t miss this opportunity and purchase your tickets online at Lottery24.com.
