revealed that the man from County Kildare has been dealing with a life-threatening cancer diagnosis.The winner has decided to stay anonymous after picking up his winnings from National Lottery headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.He was the recent winner of €795,450 jackpot from the 15 May draw of the Irish Lotto. They managed to match 5 numbers plus the bonus ball to win the record second tier amount.If he had matched one more number though he would have taken the €5,683,438 jackpot.
Health over wealth for this Irish Lottery winner
After collecting his win, he spoke with Lottery officials and stated that his 'health is more important than his wealth'.He continued: “I would definitely consider myself incredibly lucky in life and this huge Lotto win just confirms that.”The National Lottery also revealed the winner is a dad and plans to share his new found wealth with his family."We’ve already planned to pay off the mortgage and have a nice long family holiday in the next couple of weeks,” said the winner.The ticket was sold at a Texaco and Spar motorway services area and had store attendants trying to guess who could have won.[caption id="attachment_14347" align=aligncenter width=615]

There is a great buzz about the place this morning.”On Sunday there was another big Lotto win after a jackpot worth €6,197,310. The lottery winner has yet to come forward though. The National Lottery is urging players to check their tickets and instantly sign it before contacting them.
