$1m Monday & Wednesday Lotto Win Actually $2m

Discovering a $1 million Monday & Wednesday Lotto win is dramatic enough. Then a woman from Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia was told the March 13 win  was actually $2 million.

The Monday & Wednesday Lotto winner's husband  admits that what has happened is “actually a funny story.” It’s all to do with a minor argument that took place the week before and led to a double entry being made for the next draw.

The husband said that the previous week had seen him forget to enter his wife’s numbers for the Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw. That didn’t put her in the best of moods so her other half knew a similar mistake couldn't happen the following week.

“So, this week I thought I’d put them on twice to make up for it,” said the delighted husband. However, he didn’t tell her what he’d done. Then came the moment when his wife checked the results of the March 13 Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

Shock discovery

Shocks were on the way when his wife realised that their ticket had won $1 million.  It was then time for her husband to reveal what he’d done and that in fact they’d got two Division One winning tickets and had actually won $2 million.

For almost three decades the same numbers had been used but the female Wollonwong resident always had faith that one day they would produce a big win. Never did she imagine it’d be two big wins in the same Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

Family first

Now there are big plans on how to use the winnings. “It won’t take much to make us happy. My mind is racing with all the things I can do for my family,” commented the lucky winner.

Plans include buying her daughter a house. As she plans to “change so many lives,” her children and grandchildren “will be set up for the future.”

That’s her primary aim and once that’s been achieved “we’ve done that, then we can enjoy whatever is left.” That will include travelling around Australia to places she’s never seen.
