$1.9m Saturday Lotto Wins Discovered at Bedtime
The Saturday Lotto draw held in Australia on March 12 produced three division one winning entries. Each ticket won their owners $1.9 million and two of the winners have been speaking about their great luck.
One of the newest millionaires in Australia is a man from Mornington in Melbourne, Victoria. He’d been out that night at a party. He returned home at midnight and was going to go straight to bed.
However, he then checked his Saturday Lotto ticket “out of curiosity” and found out he’d won a total of $1,967,364.65. Rather than going to bed he enjoyed some wine with his partner, planning how to spend their winnings.
Bursting with joy
Talking about his big win, the lucky player said he’d always dreamed of lottery success “but you never think it’ll happen.” It has though and as he says “this is my reality now. The Saturday Lotto winner says that he was “bursting with joy.”
The winnings are going to be used to pay off their mortgage. Then some will be invested into starting a new business or getting a new job. He also wants to use the windfall to allow his wife to retire or go part-time. “She loves spending time with the kids, so I know that would mean a lot to her.” A trip to Asia is also on their spending list.
Also celebrating in Victoria is a woman from the Doncaster area of Melbourne. Her $1.9 million is the sixth division one winning entry from the city this year.
It’s paid off
This lucky winner also checked her Saturday Lotto ticket just before going to bed. She’s been playing lottery games for years and joked “it’s nice to know that it’s paid off.” Even though she called the lottery company to confirm her win, the winner had yet to tell her family what had happened, including her husband.Plans for her winnings include some house renovations.
It might become harder to get wins in the future if playing the Oz Lotto. Plans are underway to add two more balls to the draw.
