A bumper 11 ticketsshared the $20 million Saturday Lotto jackpot on May 7. One ofthe winners was from Mount Waverly in Victoria, He admits to being hardly able to stand up when discovering his win.

The lucky winners will each receive $1,818.181.82. The Victorian says that he can’t believe he’s become a Saturday Lotto millionaire. It wasn’t until logging into The Lott app that he realized his ticket had won a share of the jackpot.

“I thought it was some joke or a mistake. I couldn’t believe it!” said the shocked winner. His head began to spin, and his stomach was in knots. “I almost fell over!” he said. “It felt too good to be true. I’d been dreaming of that moment for years,” added the Saturday Lotto winner.

Everything changes

The next few hours were spent making plans for his win. He also had some friends over to celebrate with a bottle of wine or two.  He believes the win will “change everything” for him. Spending plans include buying a new car and a trip to Europe.

The rest of his winnings will be saved for his retirement. “I might even change jobs until then! Who knows?” For him the most important part of the win is that it is allowing him to re-evaluate his life completely.

This was the third Superdraw of the year. Each one sees every division one winning entry receive a prize of $1.8 million.

Players from all over Australia became millionaires. Of the 11 winners, three came from Victoria and four from Queensland. One winning ticket was sold in each of South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Syndicate win

The South Australian winning ticket was purchased by a syndicate of friends. They usually play alone but group together when there’s a huge jackpot on the line. That sounds a good idea and remember Lottery24 will soon be launching syndicates on this site.

One of the Queensland Saturday Lotto winners swiftly decided to retire. “Stuff working now,” was his immediate decision.
