$1.14m Saturday Lotto Win is a Dream Come True

A couple from Tullamarine in Melbourne, Australia saw the March 26 Saturday Lotto draw live on television. The numbers drawn looked familiar to them, and they were right. They led to the couple winning $1.14 million.

The lucky players were one of five division one winners. In total, they will receive $1,146,666.55. The winning husband said that he and his wife play the Saturday Lotto every week. However, he never imagined that one day a division one win would come along.

He recalled how they were spending a Saturday evening on their couch watching television. The Saturday Lotto draw was watched,and the husband suddenly said: “I think we have most of those numbers.” His wife wasn’t so sure and replied, “Absolutely not. No way! In your dreams!”

That didn’t deter him at all. He got their ticket and asked his wife to check the winning numbers. He wasn’t quite correct in his initial assumption. They hadn’t got most of the numbers but all the main numbers and had won the jackpot. Plenty of screaming, shouting and tears followed!

Neither could quite believe their Saturday Lotto win and they had a sleepless night. The following day their ticket was checked again but they really had become millionaires. Sunday was then spent celebrating with their family with a “nice, quiet dinner.”

A dream come true

The husband said of their win, “It’s a dream come true.” Their plans for the win include saving for their retirement. When that takes place, they want to travel around the world.

Their winning Saturday Lotto ticket was bought from a shop with a very suitable name. It was shop 73 at the Lucky Charm Airport West. That’s owned by Nicole Knothe and she’s delighted with news of their success.

"How exciting! I hope our lovely winners were surprised, and this prize helps make all their dreams come true," said Nicole. It’s the latest big win from tickets sold at her shop. The past has seen five major wins and the shop owner says she can’t wait for the next one.
